FMP Yr1: Sapphic, Evaluation & Proposal Form
The Final Film
Evaluation:
Sapphic is the longest film I have made this year. During the pre-production of this film we focused on getting all the paperwork complete quickly and professionally so that when it was time to schedule with our cast we could do it without any distractions. When scheduling it took some time to work around the actors blood brothers rehearsals, their own personal jobs and any other films they where acting in. But with lots of communication with our actors we managed to create a smooth and simple schedule.
Some things that went really well; we managed to create a film that looked really cool and fit the style that we where trying to go for, our characters are relatable and their dialogue is realistic, we clearly represented what it is like for the LGNTQ community in a church setting.
Somethings that I would like to improve; the exposure in some shots is too high, continuity is not the same throughout the film, audio is not as high quality as I would like, a few lines of dialogue is a tad awkward.
I would improve these areas by; reviewing every shot to check for exposure and focusing issues, reviewing every shot for continuity errors in the background and making sure the shot is clear, use multiple mics so that we have different audio options and review the script with the actors first to hear how it will sound with their voices.
Overall I am really pleased with what Casey and I have been able to create and even though there are some issues that I could spend hours perfecting, I am proud to show this film to my family and friends.
