Production Diary
Friday 15th October
- Call time 09.30, in room 224.
- 224 was being used so we moved to the film studio and met everyone there.
- Actors started to arrive and I asked them to sign the release forms and they all received a call sheet, which listed times of when we where filming certain scenes.
- Casey (backup camera operator) had arrived but we where still waiting on Owen (main camera operator) to arrive, it was 09.50 by this time and we need to be at location for 10.00.
- Dylan had also not arrived yet so I decided to just head to the plane and they can meet us there when they arrive.
- The actors that had arrived on time started to get into there final costumes while me and Casey got the camera and microphone setup.
- It was now 10.15 and we where supposed to start filming and Owen and Dylan where still not here so we started without them, filming any scenes that didn't include Dylan.
- Casey noticed that the audio was very quiet so we got Kane to help us fix it, it was not the best but we got it working in the end and during the edit I smoothed it out.
- It was now 10.45 no sign of Dylan or Owen so we continued, all the actors where wonderful and I was very impressed with Sienna's ability to memorise the lines so well.
- It was now an hour after call time and Dylan was no where to be seen and that was effecting our ability to get on with filming because his character had quite a large scene for himself and he was in a lot of scenes with other characters.
- Seeing how much Dylan's absence was disrupting the day I decided to completely cut his character out of the film.
- Unfortunately this meant that Karly's main speaking role was also removed from the film.
- Also I am very glad I asked Casey to be my backup camera operator the day before filming (and she said yes) as I would have been very stuck because of Owen not turning up.
- It was around 11.00 and I decided to take a five minuet break to look through the new script once all the parts with Dylan where removed, I came up with a plan so that most of the actors could go home early as all their scenes where done and they would not be waiting around.
- After the break we got straight back to it and finished all the scenes inside the plane very quickly. When I was planning the day I was unsure of how much time the actors would need so I gave each scene around 45 minutes of time however most of the time it took around fifteen for each and we where done with loads of spare time which was great.
- I then took Sienna, Megan, Magen, and Daniel to do their individual scenes which took very little time.
- Overall I was very please with how well the day of filming went but I am a bit disappointed in Owen as I helped him with his four minute film the day before and he couldn't come in to help me with mine.
